The practice believes that prevention is better than cure, and is therefore pleased to offer a wide range of Health Promotion Clinics. The following clinics are available regularly and run by our team of Practice Nurses. For many conditions we annually invite patients, by letter, to make an appointment for the clinic, usually in the month of their birthday.
Respiratory - a weekly clinic is held for COPD; asthma reviews can be booked throughout the week
Children's Immunisation & Health Surveillance - weekly clinic; letters are sent from the child health clinic when immunisations and checks are due
Diabetes - weekly clinics are held and invites sent
Chronic Heart Disease, Stroke and Hypertension - weekly clinics are held and pateints will be invited annually
NHS Health Checks - patients aged 40 - 74 will be invited for a health check every 5 years, if they do not have an existing condition whereby they are already invited to a clinic
Flu Prevention - clinics available in the autumn - look out for the advertised dates
Teenage Immunisation - letters will be sent when these are due
Practice Nurses offer comprehensive advice about overseas travel and vaccination. If at all possible, seek advice some 8 - 12 weeks before departure.
