Repeat Prescriptions

To provide a safe and speedy service all prescribing is computerised. If you are on regular medication, you will have a 'print-out' attached to the right hand side of your prescription.

Each item will have an indication of how many times the Doctor has 'authorised' the medication to be issued. Once these have all been issued, a further number of issues will need to be authorised by the Doctor. This is normally carried out by the Doctor reviewing your notes, but occasionally you may be asked to see the Doctor before more medication can be prescribed.

The easiest way to re-order medication is via the on-line system - if you are not yet registered click HERE to see how to sign up. If you do no wish to use the online system, send us the form, by hand or post, indicating the item(s) you require. Please allow at least 3 working days before collection - more if possible, particularly if you know items have 'expired' (see paragraph above).

If there is no query with your prescription, it will be ready for collection from the Surgery on the 3rd working day after it has been received in the Practice.

N.B. if you order your prescription via your chosen pharmacy, allow at least 5 days between ordering and collecting your medication.

If you wish us to post the repeat prescription, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. For medico-legal reasons, prescription requests cannot be accepted by telephone.

Requests submitted after 4.30 pm will be classed as received on the next working day.

ONLINE PRESCRIPTION SERVICE

You will need to register with SystmOnline to access the online prescription service. This service is linked to the clinical system; this means any medication that has been authorised by a doctor to be repeated will be presented to you in a list similar to that on the right hand side of your printed repeat prescription. The same username and password for this service allows online booking of appointments. If you are already signed up to the online appointments service your username and password remain the same and you can order repeat medication through this service now.
